Providence, RI · Brand comparison

Familiar brands.
Different questions to ask.

A practical Providence buyer’s guide to Acorn, Bruno, Lifeway Mobility and AmeriGlide—without assuming that any one name is the right fit.

Compare the model and the service—not only a name

Acorn, Bruno, Lifeway Mobility and AmeriGlide may appear in your search. They do not all play the same role. A manufacturer makes equipment; a provider may sell, install or service products from other manufacturers. Ask who is responsible at every stage of your purchase.

This is an independent buying guide. StairLifts Providence is not an authorized dealer or partner of these businesses. No local stock, appointment, quote or coverage is guaranteed. Brand names identify comparison subjects, not affiliations.

Acorn

Role: A stairlift manufacturer.

Ask which straight, curved or outdoor model suits your measured route, which features are included and who provides aftercare at your address.

Bruno

Role: A stairlift manufacturer.

Compare the exact chair and rail proposal, manual or powered options, and the installer’s written service terms. The licensed indoor photographs here are Bruno examples—not an available inventory.

Lifeway Mobility

Role: A provider of accessibility equipment and installation—not the manufacturer of every product it offers.

Ask which manufacturer and model is on the quote, whether your address is served, and whether new, used or rental choices fit your staircase.

AmeriGlide

Role: A stairlift brand and seller with model-specific product support.

Establish the exact product, who measures and fits it, and who handles faults locally. Do not assume every model has identical installation or warranty arrangements.

Questions that work across brands

  • Does the quoted model fit my actual route and transfer needs?
  • Can I try the seat and controls I would receive?
  • Who installs, who services and what do visits cost?
  • What exactly is included in the installed total?

Before a Providence-area assessment

For a Providence assessment, explain whether the route is inside your own home, on a shared staircase or at an outdoor entrance. Ownership permissions, the route between landings and the exact service address all need to be clear before ordering. Nearby Massachusetts service must be confirmed separately; a Rhode Island guide is not cross-state coverage assurance.

Official sources checked October 21, 2026. Follow each provider’s current model documents for specifications. National product information is not evidence of service at a particular address.
